Official Information
Officials must complete registration requirements of USA Hockey.
- Must complete online USA Hockey Membership Registration
- Must complete SafeSport Training (18 and older)
- Must complete and maintain a USA Hockey sanctioned background screening (18 and older)
Level 1: Typically officiate games at age levels 8U or thru 12U (Mites through Pee Wees)
Level 2: Typically officiate at the 14U (Bantam) and younger classes after completion of the registration and after sufficient experience at Level 1
Level 3: The Level 3 official has proven his/her abilities over a period of years. Level 3 officials typically referee games through the 17U (Midget) as well as Over 20 (Senior) and act as a Linesman for Junior hockey games (19U)
Level 4: Level 4 officials may work all levels of USA Hockey. Applicants must have at least one year of experience at Level 3. Level 4 officials are eligible to work national-level events
